Glenmorangie seeks an NPD Packaging Technologist in Livingston, Scotland to lead technical packaging development from concept to launch. Permanent, hybrid role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical development, testing, and approval for NPD projects across primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
- Conduct technical risk assessments in collaboration with cross-functional internal teams and external partners to identify and mitigate project delivery risks
- Develop, execute, and validate structured testing plans to ensure efficient performance on bottling lines and successful delivery of finished products
- Organize and lead new packaging trials in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure readiness for launch
- Manage the development, review, and internal and external approval of artworks throughout the NPD lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance and brand guideline adherence
- Collaborate with the quality team to develop supplier dry goods quality aesthetic standards aligned with brand requirements
- Identify and implement sustainability improvement opportunities, ensuring NPD projects meet company, regulatory, and governmental sustainability targets
- Collate sustainability data throughout NPD projects and populate EPI scoring for reporting
- Support first production runs internally and at supply partners to ensure optimal dry goods performance on bottling lines
- Manage purchase orders and invoice administration for NPD origination, sampling, and tooling requirements
- Interpret, validate, and create technical drawings and specifications for all packaging components; maintain detailed packaging data and documentation
- Contribute to post-project reviews, document learnings, and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing, testing, and approving primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
- Demonstrated knowledge of industry regulatory and sustainability compliance standards
- Proficiency in interpreting and validating technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional and effective communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Team-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions

Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of leading technical projects from concept through commercial launch, managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships, and delivering compliant, brand-aligned packaging solutions.
Education
Secondary education or equivalent; vocational training, apprenticeship, or diploma in packaging technology, engineering, quality assurance, or a related discipline is preferred but not required if substantial relevant practical experience is demonstrated.
