Ardbeg Distillery (Glenmorangie/LVMH) seeks Electrical Distillery Technician for 12-month contract on Isle of Islay, Scotland. Electrical maintenance, PLC systems, SAP experience required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, fault-finding, repairs, monitoring, and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment across the distillery and warehouses
- Execute small project installations for continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with the site team to achieve shared goals and operational effectiveness
- Maintain high standards of compliance and safety to prevent accidents and environmental incidents
- Manage contractors, including reviewing risk assessments and method statements, and issuing permits
- Complete scheduled maintenance work via the SAP computerized asset management system according to the work schedule
- Conduct mandatory compliance checks and maintain comprehensive records
- Participate in site team meetings to discuss future works, issues, and operational planning
Qualifications
- Multi-skilled, time-served technician with demonstrated electrical bias
- Knowledge of safe systems of work, risk assessment methodology, and isolation procedures
- Strong fault-finding skills with ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
- Computer literacy including Excel, Word, and computerized asset management systems
- Basic PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) understanding
- Valid UK Driving License
- COMPEX certification (preferred)
- ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) card (preferred)

Minimum 3 years of experience as a multi-skilled technician with an established electrical background, demonstrating strong fault-finding abilities and a proven track record of safe, proactive independent work in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Education
