Givenchy in Shanghai seeks a Senior Merchandising Manager, Women's Universe to lead buying, in‑season merchandising and market intelligence for Greater China.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead seasonal buying sessions and define assortment strategy and investment aligned with corporate direction.
  • Prepare and present Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans and manage buy decisions at the required granularity to reflect store/client profiles and market needs.
  • Drive in‑season commercial performance: oversee stock distribution, allocation and consolidation; initiate analysis and corrective actions to maximise sales and achieve targeted sell‑through.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Chain to secure appropriate inventory flow and with Visual Merchandising to optimise in‑store presentation while preserving brand image.
  • Coordinate with CRM and Training teams to develop clientele insights and identify or deliver training to frontline teams.
  • Conduct regular market visits and competitive research to capture trends, customer behaviour and opportunity areas.
  • Maintain strong liaison with HQ to share market intelligence, propose local product developments and secure resources to support the Greater China business.
  • Coach and develop the merchandising team to strengthen local capabilities and execution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of buying/merchandising experience; 10 years preferred, ideally within luxury fashion or premium apparel.
  • Proven experience managing assortment planning, OTB and in‑season commercial processes across multiple sales channels.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate quantitative and qualitative insights into commercial actions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; confident presenter and collaborator with cross‑functional teams.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive and results‑oriented with demonstrated team leadership.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; Mandarin proficiency is advantageous for the Greater China market.
  • University graduate in business, fashion merchandising or related field; degree in fashion design is a plus.
