Givenchy — Materials & Production Buyer (Ready-to-Wear) in Paris, France. Permanent role in Production Purchasing for womenswear & menswear.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage procurement of components and packaging (linings, zips, buttons, trimmings, etc.) for womenswear and menswear ready‑to‑wear.
- Serve as primary contact for suppliers and manufacturers; negotiate MOQs, prices, lead times and compliance with CSR requirements.
- Raise and follow production orders; track shipments and update inventory and tracking tables.
- Validate production samples prior to dispatch and coordinate quality testing (documentation and sample transmission).
- Handle production issues including quality non‑conformities and supplier/manufacturer disputes; drive corrective actions.
- Maintain and update ERP/PLM records to reflect production changes and approvals.
- Review and validate invoices and re‑billing requests; initiate refactoring requests with warehouse when required.
- Coordinate daily operations with the warehouse: monitor receipts/shipments of fabrics and components, and prepare materials for PPS (pre‑production samples).
- Analyse operational metrics (open balances, end‑of‑season material buy‑backs, delivery times by material type) and develop procedures to improve processes.
- Manage production of company uniforms when applicable.
Qualifications
- Degree from a business school, engineering school or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar buying/procurement role within apparel, luxury fashion or production purchasing.
- Proven negotiation skills and supplier management experience (MOQs, pricing, lead times, contractual/CSR constraints).
- Strong analytical and organisational abilities; methodical and rigorous approach to follow‑up.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and aptitude for cross‑functional teamwork.
- Fluent English (oral and written); Italian is an advantage.

At least 5 years of progressive experience in materials sourcing, production purchasing or procurement within ready‑to‑wear or luxury apparel, with hands‑on responsibility for supplier negotiations, order management and production follow‑up.
Education
Business school or engineering degree (or equivalent).
