Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute hand and machine polishing of watch cases and components to prescribed satin and mirror finishes, meeting Rolex surface and dimensional tolerances.
  • Assemble and fit cases (emboîtage) ensuring correct alignment, tolerances and sealing for subsequent movement insertion and water-resistance testing.
  • Perform microscopic and loupe-based inspections to detect surface imperfections, tool marks or dimensional deviations; apply corrective finishing where required.
  • Maintain and set up polishing equipment (lathes, polishing wheels, abrasive media) and ensure tools are in optimal condition and calibrated.
  • Adhere to documented quality-control protocols and completion checks; accurately record process parameters and inspection results.
  • Collaborate with benchmakers, quality engineers and production planners to meet production targets while preserving finishing standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for finishing techniques, process stability and material handling.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma in watchmaking (CFC) or equivalent technical qualification; completion of a horology apprenticeship preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in polishing and case assembly within haute horlogerie or precision metal finishing (typically 3+ years).
  • Excellent manual dexterity, fine motor control and sustained visual acuity; ability to work under loupe or microscope for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of precious and stainless steel metallurgy and appropriate abrasive/chemistry selection for different alloys.
  • Commitment to strict quality standards, confidentiality and the discretion expected in a luxury manufacturing environment.
