The Merchandise Planner partners with a buyer and a commercial management assistant to optimize stock availability, offer profitability, and margin. Responsibilities include merchandise analysis and planning, stock and replenishment management, supplier returns, and coordination with stores and suppliers. This is a nine-month fixed-term contract.
Role & Responsibilities
- Optimize offer profitability in collaboration with buyers by conducting analyses and making proposals in line with set objectives.
- Build purchasing budgets based on sales forecasts and the management ratios defined for the scope.
- Contribute to offer construction following collection reviews, including assortment rationalization, consideration of store capabilities, and planning of events.
- Optimize margin by managing price reductions and monitoring margin rates.
- Define, manage, and adjust minimum stock levels by store to optimize product sell-through, including during promotional periods, and determine seasonal and replenishment needs.
- Monitor seasonal sell-through and define action plans with the buyer to improve it.
- Assess projected stock levels and develop an action plan with the buyer.
- Manage supplier returns during the half-yearly campaigns.
- Coordinate with stores and suppliers on supply-related matters.
Qualifications
- A master’s-level qualification (Bac+5) from a business school or equivalent.
- At least an initial experience as a Purchasing Manager or Merchandise Planner, ideally in retail.
- Action-oriented, dynamic, responsive, and curious.
- Team-oriented, collaborative, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.
- Excellent command of Excel and general IT tools.
- English proficiency is a plus.
