Role & Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic legal advice across commercial, corporate, intellectual property and distribution matters affecting the maison.
• Design, implement and oversee the compliance programme (regulatory monitoring, policies, controls, AML/KYC, gifts & hospitality, conflicts of interest).
• Lead GDPR/data protection governance: data mapping, DPIAs, vendor reviews and breach response.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, distribution agreements, vendor and service contracts, and NDAs.
• Manage external counsel and litigation, coordinating strategy, budgets and dispute resolution.
• Advise on corporate governance, board/committee documentation and regulatory filings as required.
• Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness for commercial, retail and corporate teams.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and periodic audits; propose remediation and control enhancements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in law (Master 2) or equivalent; bar qualification (avocat) or equivalent professional credential preferred.
• Proven track record (typically 5+ years) in corporate law and compliance, ideally with in-house experience or law firm background supporting luxury goods, retail or consumer-facing businesses.
• Strong knowledge of French corporate law, commercial contracts, IP and data protection (GDPR).
• Practical experience implementing AML/KYC and trade/compliance controls within a retail or international distribution context.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills; ability to translate legal risk into commercial solutions.

Typically 5+ years of progressive legal and compliance experience, with demonstrable exposure to retail, distribution or luxury-goods clients; prior in-house experience and cross-border matter handling are strongly preferred.

Education

Master's degree in law (Master 2/DESS) or equivalent; bar admission (avocat) or equivalent credential is desirable.
