Galeries Lafayette seeks an Employment Law Counsel (fixed-term contract, 1 year) in Paris. €40k–€45k annually.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the deployment of professional elections across all group entities
- Provide expert counsel and support to HR managers and store operations teams on labor law matters affecting both individual and collective employment rights
- Accompany HR and organizational projects and lead their legal review
- Prepare and oversee contentious employment files in liaison with external counsel, managing document preparation and coordination of legal actions
- Provide support during collective bargaining negotiations and agreement drafting
- Conduct regulatory monitoring of employment law and social legislation, and communicate significant legal developments internally through current awareness dossiers
- Advise and counsel on employment-related questions across all departments, addressing both individual and collective labor law issues
- Disseminate best practices and corporate recommendations on the application of employment law
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Employment Law or French legal qualification (CAPA)
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in employment law outside of internships or apprenticeships, gained either in-house or within a law firm
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities with ability to synthesize complex information
- Commitment to excellence and client service orientation
- Willingness to embrace new challenges and demonstrate agility in learning
- Collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork
Skills
Experience
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in employment law matters within either a corporate legal department or law firm practice, excluding internships and apprenticeships.
Education
Master's degree in Employment Law or French legal qualification (Certificat d'aptitude à la profession d'avocat - CAPA).

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from EUR 40,000 to EUR 45,000 per annum.
