FRED Retail Operations and Performance Manager in Tokyo, Japan. Drive operational excellence and commercial performance across luxury retail network. Full-time role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and improve retail operating procedures for front- and back-of-house activities across all boutiques
- Develop and maintain retail guidelines, manuals, and performance dashboards; monitor KPIs including conversion, productivity, stock efficiency, and client service
- Optimize merchandise flows, oversee stock counts, and ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with internal controls and audit policies
- Support retail service initiatives including tax-free procedures, after-sales coordination, and fraud prevention
- Coordinate with Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, HR, and Store Planning on retail transformation projects and process improvements
- Support retail network development through operational requirements for store openings, renovations, and relocations
- Maintain regular field presence through boutique visits; partner with retail teams to embed standards, resolve operational challenges, and identify capability gaps
Qualifications
- Significant experience in retail operations within luxury, fashion, jewelry, or premium retail environments
- Strong project management and cross-functional coordination expertise
- Solid understanding of retail operations including stock management, store processes, KPIs, and internal control frameworks
- Proven ability to work across functions and influence stakeholders at store and head office levels
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Fluency in Japanese and English

Experience
Minimum 3 years of significant experience in retail operations, ideally within luxury, fashion, jewelry, or other premium retail environments. Proven track record of leading process improvements, managing cross-functional projects, and driving performance across retail networks.
