FRED Jewelry Designer role in Paris, France. Full-time hybrid position in design studio reporting to Studio Director.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation and development of fine jewelry and haute joaillerie collections in line with the house's DNA, creative codes, and design language
  • Participate in creative research phases including storytelling, mood boards, iconographic research, and archive exploration
  • Develop preliminary sketches and finished drawings incorporating technical constraints such as gemstones, volumes, weight, and wearability
  • Finalize validated drawings with color rendering and dimensioned technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator for production handoff
  • Collaborate closely with the 3D designer to validate volumes, proportions, and manufacturing feasibility
  • Serve as the interface between the design studio, marketing, product development, and external designers
  • Provide clear and substantiated creative and technical feedback to ensure adherence to deadlines and quality objectives
  • Prepare for and participate in creative development meetings, pre-design reviews, and internal design presentations
  • Prepare necessary materials for presentations to the Artistic Director including new drawings, evolutions, and recommendations
  • Manage relationships with freelance designers including coordinating exchanges, receiving and returning drawings, and transmitting feedback
  • Organize and coordinate weekly meetings with marketing and development teams including agendas, supporting materials, and meeting minutes
  • Monitor project timelines using detailed retroactive planning and ensure adherence to schedules
  • Ensure availability of necessary materials for exchanges including drawings, waxes, resins, briefs, and reference images
  • Alert studio leadership to potential risks regarding deadlines or shifting priorities
  • Contribute to the creative renewal of jewelry and haute joaillerie offerings in collaboration with artistic and studio leadership
  • Maintain active market awareness of jewelry trends, artistic and cultural movements through exhibitions and luxury industry engagement

Qualifications

  • Superior education in jewelry design, product design, or equivalent discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in fine jewelry or haute joaillerie design within a luxury house or design studio
  • Exceptional skill in hand drawing and graphic design tools
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility with acute attention to detail and creative coherence
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, manage competing priorities, and meet demanding deadlines
  • Demonstrated rigor, organization, collaborative mindset, and clear communication skills
  • Deep sensitivity to luxury heritage and the identity of jewelry houses

Experience
