Maison Francis Kurkdjian — Paris seeks a Perfumer's Assistant for its fragrance creation laboratory.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute perfumery formulas devised by perfumers for creation projects, reformulations and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform precise weighing, dilutions and applications across multiple bases (alcohol, candle, shower gel, cream and other supports as required).
  • Initiate, run and monitor stability, compatibility and solubility studies; manage associated instrumental analyses (Sun-test, stability chambers / étuves, spectrophotometer).
  • Conduct olfactory quality control of incoming raw materials and guarantee the olfactory conformity of concentrates delivered to perfumers.
  • Manage operational laboratory logistics: place and follow supplier orders, monitor stocks of raw materials, alcohol and laboratory consumables, and source new raw materials.
  • Maintain optimal storage conditions and ensure adherence to best practice sampling and conservation protocols for bases and concentrates.
  • Organise laboratory functioning and housekeeping: ensure availability of consumables (vials, pipettes, glassware), maintain lab order and archive application records.
  • Manage sampling and distribution of concentrates for Studio de Création, training, events, marketing and other internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee the logistics and follow-up of laboratory orders including raw material samples, alcohol and consumables.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in perfumery, cosmetics, flavors/aromas, bio-industries of transformation, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum three years' proven experience as an assistant perfumer or in an equivalent role within a recognised fragrance laboratory.
  • Acute olfactory acuity and demonstrated experience in fragrance formulation and laboratory techniques.
  • Excellent numerical precision and manual dexterity for accurate weighing, dilutions and sample preparation.
  • Strong organisational skills, rigor, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple laboratory tasks.

Experience
