Maison Francis Kurkdjian seeks an experienced Perfume Assistant in Paris to support fragrance creation and laboratory operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute perfume formulas for new creations, reformulations, and regulatory compliance projects
- Conduct precise measurements and applications across multiple bases including alcohol, candles, shower gels, creams, and other carriers
- Initiate and monitor stability studies, perform compatibility and solubility testing, and conduct instrumental analyses using specialized equipment (Sun-tests, ovens, spectrophotometers)
- Manage raw material procurement and inventory, including sourcing of new aromatic materials and coordination with suppliers
- Oversee laboratory stock management of consumables, glassware, pipettes, and bottles to ensure operational continuity
- Verify olfactory compliance of raw materials upon receipt and guarantee compliance with optimal storage conditions
- Prepare and manage concentrate sampling for the Creation Studio, training, events, marketing, and internal departments
- Execute dilutions while monitoring expiration dates and shelf-life requirements
- Maintain color applications and manage the archiving and organization of application samples
- Coordinate logistics with internal stakeholders and manage laboratory functionality, ensuring adherence to best practices in sampling and documentation
Qualifications
- Diploma in perfumery, cosmetics, aromas, or equivalent qualification (such as baccalauréat in bio-industrial transformation)
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience as a perfume assistant, ideally within a recognized laboratory
- Advanced proficiency in database management and inventory systems
- Acute olfactory sensibility and refined aromatic perception
- Meticulous attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain rigorous laboratory standards
- Strong versatility and entrepreneurial mindset with proven initiative-taking capability
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of successful experience as a perfume assistant, ideally acquired within a recognized fragrance laboratory. Prior exposure to formula development, material specification, and laboratory operations is essential.
Education
Diploma in perfumery, cosmetics, aromas, or equivalent academic qualification such as a baccalauréat in bio-industrial transformation. Relevant tertiary qualifications in chemistry, materials science, or cosmetic science are advantageous.
