FENDI Japan is hiring an HR Manager in Tokyo to lead talent acquisition, retention and HR programmes for the Japan business.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition for Japan: assess hiring needs, design sourcing strategies (direct and indirect), manage selection and offer processes, and partner with external recruitment vendors.
  • Drive organisation design and internal mobility: advise department heads on staffing, monitor headcount across offices and stores, and ensure effective talent allocation.
  • Act as HR business partner to retail and office management to implement HR projects, provide consultation on team structures and performance, and support employee relations and labour-management matters.
  • Support annual performance appraisal and individual compensation review cycles, including out-of-cycle salary actions, in coordination with the HR Director.
  • Coordinate talent development initiatives: analyse training needs, administer nominations for LVMH/Fashion Group corporate programmes, and support retail training from an HR perspective.
  • Manage HR administration tasks including recruiting and training budgets, internal communications with headquarters, general office affairs, employee welfare and safety, and lead ad hoc HR projects.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent academic qualification.
  • Minimum five years of progressive Human Resources experience, ideally within retail or product retail businesses.
  • Native-level Japanese and advanced-level English (both required).
  • Solid knowledge of Japanese labour law and practical experience managing labour-related issues.
  • Proven ability to partner with business leaders, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated discretion, integrity and a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking capabilities.
