Fendi seeks a Finance Director, Europe in Rome, Italy — senior finance leader to steer IFRS reporting, compliance and regional performance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic financial partner to the President Europe and senior leadership, delivering data‑driven analyses, scenario planning and actionable recommendations to support commercial and operational decision‑making.
- Own regional IFRS consolidation and reporting: lead monthly close, variance analysis, sales and margin reporting, stock monitoring and ad‑hoc financial packages for Regional and Corporate HQ.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax and regulatory requirements across European markets; supervise relationships with banks, auditors and external advisors, and oversee transfer pricing documentation.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning processes; prepare business cases and financial plans for store openings and major investments while controlling CAPEX and operating costs.
- Drive performance management through KPI design, retail transaction monitoring, margin and profitability analysis across retail, wholesale and e‑commerce channels.
- Strengthen internal control frameworks and Group policy adoption; identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase accuracy and reduce risk.
- Manage, coach and develop a network of Country Controllers across multiple European markets, promoting cross‑country collaboration and elevating the finance function as a business partner.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressively senior finance experience within an international, multi‑country organisation; luxury, fashion or retail sector experience strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership experience managing distributed finance teams and interfacing with senior commercial stakeholders.
- Deep technical knowledge of IFRS consolidation, tax & transfer pricing, treasury and statutory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and preparing investment business cases.
- Fluent in English and Italian; French is a desirable additional language.

Experience
Minimum 10 years in senior finance roles within multinational, multi‑country organisations; prior exposure to luxury, fashion or retail businesses is highly desirable. Proven experience leading regional reporting, tax & compliance, and managing country‑level controllers.
Education
Degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration; MSc or MBA preferred.
