Fendi seeks Distribution Control Manager in Rome to oversee global retail and wholesale financial analysis, reporting to LVMH headquarters.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial analyses of retail, wholesale, and licensed activities, ensuring distribution entities meet month-end and year-end closing deadlines
  • Monitor retail performance and profitability metrics, proactively developing action plans to improve financial KPIs and operational efficiency
  • Conduct comprehensive cost variance and margin analyses across all distribution channels
  • Present financial results to executive leadership with detailed commentary and strategic interpretation of performance trends
  • Analyze P&L statements, inventory levels, margin performance, cash flow dynamics, and capital expenditure allocations
  • Manage direct reporting relationships with LVMH for consolidated sales and capital expenditure submissions
  • Coordinate and oversee budget preparation and financial forecasting processes, including all forecast phases within the role's purview
  • Design and implement rule sets and performance targets in collaboration with senior management
  • Lead capital expenditure requests to LVMH for retail store and distribution network investments, integrating Fendi's sustainability strategy considerations
  • Establish quality control protocols over financial transactions and reporting methodologies
  • Propose and implement enhancements to financial analysis frameworks to adapt to evolving business dynamics and opportunities
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities through detailed analysis of retail performance indicators
  • Participate in the Open To Buy process in coordination with supply chain and merchandising functions
  • Partner with IT departments to drive innovation and efficiency in finance-related systems implementations, validating KPIs and analytical methodologies
  • Perform additional controller responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial control, management accounting, or business analysis roles
  • Proven experience in fashion, luxury goods, or comparable high-complexity retail environments
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated expertise with Power BI or equivalent business intelligence tools
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing corporate ERP systems and financial reporting platforms
  • Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial procedures
  • Expertise in general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes
  • Proficiency with SAP or equivalent enterprise resource planning systems
  • Fluency in English (French is advantageous)
  • Strong project management capabilities and ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet competing deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills across geographically dispersed organizations

Experience

Experience with end-to-end budget cycles, forecasting processes, and board-level financial reporting is essential. Familiarity with the operational structure and reporting requirements of luxury fashion houses is highly desirable.

Education

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Continued professional development in international financial reporting standards (IFRS), corporate finance, or business analytics is valued.
