Fendi Tokyo seeks experienced FP&A Director to lead financial operations of retail subsidiary, reporting to Japan Zone President, hybrid role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives, providing financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to guide executive decision-making
  • Coordinate with Fashion Group accounting team on preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
  • Lead the budgeting process, monitor financial performance against targets, and provide insights to optimize resource allocation and cost management
  • Identify financial risks and work jointly with Fashion Group Internal Control to develop customized mitigation strategies; ensure robust internal controls and regulatory compliance
  • Support Fashion Group finance team on external audit preparation and execution as required
  • Manage and mentor the FP&A team (1 manager and 1 analyst), fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development
  • Collaborate with senior management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities to provide financial insights and recommendations supporting strategic initiatives
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity of the subsidiary; optimize working capital management
  • Optimize tax planning strategies and support Fashion Group Finance on tax return preparation as needed
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of financial systems and tools, ensuring data accuracy and integrity for effective financial management
  • Act as guardian of organizational assets—people, brand, cash, stock, and stores—protecting their value and security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree or professional certification such as CPA or CFA preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance with at least 5 years in a leadership role, ideally within retail or luxury industry
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
  • In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Familiarity with Japanese financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Japanese (spoken and written)

Experience
