Fendi Department Manager position in London – Temporary maternity cover role at Harrods, managing luxury retail sales, merchandising, and team leadership.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the department business with comprehensive understanding of category performance and stakeholder relationships
  • Monitor department KPIs and implement strategic action plans to improve sales results and profitability
  • Set performance targets for the team and individuals in alignment with Store Manager objectives
  • Monitor competitor trading activities and provide strategic feedback to Store Manager
  • Leverage clienteling tools and CRM platforms to achieve departmental and store business goals
  • Deliver sales leadership through excellent customer service standards and clienteling activities
  • Manage customer service quality to meet expectations and improve Mystery Shopper performance
  • Act as brand category ambassador to educate VIP and new clients on product offerings
  • Participate in ad-hoc clientele projects and CRM initiatives
  • Ensure proper merchandise management, display, storage, and maintenance by the team
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and shrink rates within company standards
  • Report stock availability issues and out-of-stock status on best sellers to planning teams
  • Maintain visual merchandising consistency with company standards and align displays with sales performance
  • Optimize display and proximity storage efficiency
  • Coach team members through monthly performance discussions
  • Motivate the team to achieve individual and store objectives at the highest level
  • Organize the team efficiently according to business needs and delegate responsibilities
  • Translate strategic goals into concrete individual actions and objectives
  • Conduct category training and execute in-store training routines set by Store Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of supervisor-level experience in fashion and luxury retail sales
  • Master's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Fluency in English; third language considered advantageous
  • High personal image and style standards aligned with luxury brand expectations
  • Strong selling and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Client-focused approach with strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated confidence, organizational skills, and professionalism
