ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse, a division of the Swatch Group, seeks an experienced Tool & Mold Technician to support the production of Swiss-made watch components, watch heads, and dials for premium brands including Swatch and Flik Flak. The successful candidate will perform assembly, maintenance, and repair of injection molding tooling at the Grenchen facility, working with precision tolerance specifications and advanced manufacturing technologies to ensure optimal tooling performance and product quality.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assemble and disassemble injection molding tooling and dies
  • Analyze molding tooling and autonomously determine remedial actions and maintenance protocols
  • Perform maintenance work on injection molds including cleaning, repair, and correction
  • Manufacture replacement and wear parts for injection molding tooling
  • Fabricate form inserts and individual components for existing and new molds
  • Execute technical modifications and design changes to tooling
  • Perform precision machining operations in the thousandths tolerance range
  • Contribute technical expertise to optimization and innovation projects
  • Execute conventional machining operations including drilling, milling, turning, surface grinding, and laser welding
  • Communicate and meet production deadlines consistently
  • Ensure component quality and quantity standards throughout task execution
  • Autonomously determine tooling production readiness and assume responsibility for tool release decisions
  • Report deviations and irregularities to supervisors promptly

Qualifications

  • Completed apprenticeship as a Tool Maker (EFZ) or Polymechanic (EFZ)
  • Multiple years of professional experience in mold making and tooling
  • Experience in plastic injection molding preferred
  • Decision-making and action-oriented mindset

Experience

Multiple years of professional experience in mold making, form tool design, and plastic injection molding processes; experience within the precision manufacturing or medical device sector is advantageous.

Education

Completed apprenticeship as a Tool Maker (Werkzeugmacher EFZ) or Polymechanic (Polymechaniker EFZ) in Switzerland or equivalent qualification.

Workplace

This position is based in Grenchen, Solothurn, Switzerland, within easy reach of Basel.
