ETA SA seeks experienced Polymechanic for EDM operations in Grenchen, Switzerland. Support precision tooling for Swatch production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment for precision tooling fabrication
- Perform repairs, corrections, and modifications to injection-moulding tools to ensure production readiness
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of EDM machinery and associated tooling
- Fabricate new injection-moulding tools and individual components according to technical specifications
- Collaborate with the tool & die team to optimize tooling performance and production efficiency
- Document work completed and maintain accurate records of tool maintenance and modifications
Qualifications
- Formal qualification as a Polymechanic (CFC or equivalent)
- Demonstrated proficiency in electrical discharge machining (EDM) and precision tooling
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and tool design
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Attention to detail and commitment to precision and quality standards
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in polymechanics, tool & die operations, or electrical discharge machining, preferably within precision manufacturing or watchmaking environments.
Education
Apprenticeship completion as a Polymechanic (CFC — Certificat Fédéral de Capacité) or equivalent Swiss/international qualification in mechanical engineering or precision tooling.

This position is based in Grenchen, Solothurn, Switzerland, within easy reach of Bern.
