Role & Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and commission plastics production machines and auxiliary equipment for serial production of green blanks and other plastic watch components.
  • Execute tool changeovers and mould installation with strict adherence to setup sheets and technical drawings.
  • Monitor production parameters, perform in‑process quality checks and document results to ensure conformity with specifications.
  • Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions to minimise scrap and downtime.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to perform preventive maintenance and escalate mechanical issues.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to increase yield, reduce cycle times and stabilise processes.
  • Keep accurate production records, complete shift handovers and adhere to HSE and cleanroom procedures where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in plastics technology, mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven competence in machine set‑up and operation within injection moulding or comparable plastics processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, setup documentation and process parameters.
  • Good manual dexterity, precision orientation and experience with tooling/mechanical adjustments.
  • Familiarity with process control methods and basic troubleshooting techniques.

Skills

MIM (Metal Injection Moulding) injection moulding machine set-up tool changeover process optimisation technical drawing interpretation statistical process control (SPC)

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in plastics production, injection moulding or machine set‑up within a serial manufacturing environment; prior exposure to watch or precision component manufacturing is advantageous.

Education

Vocational training (apprenticeship) in plastics technology, mechanical engineering or equivalent technical qualification.

Workplace

The successful candidate will be located in Grenchen, Solothurn, Switzerland, with easy access to Biel/Bienne.
