ETA SA, part of the Swatch Group, seeks a Measurement Specialist/Metrologist to manage dimensional metrology and precision measurement systems within its manufacturing facility in Grenchen. The role encompasses instrument selection, measurement methodology definition, measurement program creation across Keyence, Hexagon, and Vertex platforms, and staff training on precision measurement equipment. The position contributes to process improvement initiatives and supports the establishment of formal measurement system analyses (MSA) and traceability protocols within Swiss-Made watch and component production.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Select and qualify measurement instruments according to site requirements and ETA standards
  • Establish and implement appropriate measurement methodologies and measurement positions
  • Exercise decision authority in measurement processes and instrument selection
  • Ensure integration of measurement tools into production workflows
  • Define suitable measurement environments and conduct measurement system analyses (MSA)
  • Guarantee traceability of all measurements throughout the production process
  • Understand and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles in specifications
  • Develop and maintain operational manuals for measurement equipment
  • Train and support production staff on correct use of measurement devices
  • Participate in continuous improvement of measurement processes
  • Support resolution of formal quality non-conformance (FSTR) documentation
  • Collaborate with the Metrology Competence Centre (MCC) on instrument evaluation and standardization
  • Create and standardize measurement programs across Keyence, Hexagon, and Vertex systems
  • Implement corrective measures to ensure product availability and quality

  • Technical apprenticeship (EFZ) with specialized qualification as Metrologist

Experience
