ETA SA, a high-tech watch manufacturing subsidiary of the Swatch Group, seeks an Industrial Draughtsman/CAD Designer Apprentice for a four-year vocational programme commencing in 2027. The apprentice will design and construct components and sub-assemblies for production machinery, tools, and installations, creating technical drawings and documentation through both manual sketching and 3D computer-aided design. This role involves dimensional specification, geometric tolerancing, material and surface finish designation, and active participation in new product development projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and construct mechanical components and sub-assemblies for apparatus, machinery, tools, and production installations
- Develop initial hand sketches and translate them into 3D computer-aided construction drawings
- Perform engineering calculations and apply geometric forms, dimensions, tolerances, and surface/material specifications to technical drawings
- Actively participate in new product development initiatives and lead or collaborate on project and sub-project assignments
- Respond to evolving market demands and client requirements through continuous design refinement
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and construction plans
