ETA SA, a high-tech watchmaking manufacturer and part of the Swatch Group, seeks an Automation Technician Apprentice for a four-year vocational apprenticeship beginning in 2027. The apprentice will work with automated installations, industrial robots, and electrical machinery, developing expertise in designing, programming, and maintaining automation systems. Under professional mentorship, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in electrical wiring, troubleshooting, prototype testing, and technical documentation within a precision manufacturing environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated installations, industrial robots, and electrical machinery
- Fabricate and assemble electrical, electronic, and pneumatic components
- Develop and program automated control systems
- Test and verify machine and installation functionality
- Identify and troubleshoot system errors and defects
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and optimization
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate with engineering specialists and cross-functional teams
- Assist in on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of customer systems

- Secondary school education, vocational stream, or equivalent general secondary education
- Strong mathematical aptitude and interest in computer science
