ETA SA, a leading Swiss watch manufacture and subsidiary of the Swatch Group, seeks a motivated apprentice for a three-year horological production programme (EFZ). The apprentice will assemble mechanical and electronic watch movements and chronographs, conduct precision testing and adjustments, and identify and resolve quality issues across production stages. Work encompasses movement assembly, hands and dial fitting, case installation, and functional verification using specialised measurement methods, with exposure to both industrial production and customer service environments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical and electronic watch movements and chronographs to precise specifications
- Perform functional testing and adjustments on completed movements and timepieces using calibrated measurement and inspection methods
- Identify aesthetic defects, functional malfunctions, and production anomalies during various production stages and determine root causes
- Install hands, dials, and movements into watch cases and secure assemblies according to quality standards
- Fabricate simple tools and equipment required for movement and case assembly
- Conduct quality control verification of finished watches using specialised testing equipment
- Support customer service operations through repair and adjustment work as required
Qualifications
- Successful completion of compulsory secondary education (middle to advanced level)
- Strong spatial reasoning and visualisation ability
- Demonstrated interest in complex technical and mechanical work
- Ability to assume responsibility and work independently
- Readiness to maintain accuracy and concentration during repetitive precision tasks
- Proficiency in German language (spoken and written)

No prior professional experience required; this is an entry-level apprenticeship for secondary school graduates seeking horological training.
Education
Mittlere Reife or equivalent (middle to advanced compulsory secondary education level).
