Estée Lauder Companies seeks a Manager, Responsible Sourcing in Long Island City to lead the Sensitive Supply Chains program, managing sustainable practices across global ingredients supply bases.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage and advance implementation of ELC's Sensitive Supply Chains program by developing and monitoring raw material-specific action plans and delivering progress updates to senior leadership
- Lead upstream supply chain transparency and traceability initiatives, coordinating with service providers and participating in multi-stakeholder platforms such as TRASCE
- Engage ingredients suppliers on responsible sourcing practices, facilitate systematic sharing of ingredient sourcing information, and progress adoption of certified ingredients
- Assess and advise on sustainability and human rights risks in priority supply chains; evaluate supplier practices and support verification approaches including certifications and third-party assessments
- Develop leadership-ready materials synthesizing progress, risks, and strategic decisions; manage project plans, milestones, and cross-functional stakeholder inputs
- Represent ELC in external coalitions and working groups to identify best practices, advance collaborative solutions, and help remediate human rights and environmental issues in key supply chains
- Coordinate with ELC's Charitable Foundation to monitor implementation of impact projects in sourcing communities, evaluate progress, and support internal alignment and resource mobilization
- Evaluate brand marketing claim requests related to raw material sourcing in partnership with brands, Legal, and R&D; support public reporting and sustainability disclosures
- Monitor, analyze, and improve SSC data using internal systems and external platforms; track KPIs including transparency depth, traceability depth, and data quality
- Stay current on evolving regulations and compliance protocols relevant to upstream supply chains (e.g., EUDR) and translate implications into practical supplier requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in responsible sourcing, sustainability, human rights, or procurement, preferably with raw materials or ingredients supply chains
- Demonstrated experience managing complex project portfolios and translating intricate topics into clear, leadership-ready narratives and presentations
- Experience with supply chain traceability systems, supplier data quality management, and KPI development and reporting
- Proven ability to engage and influence suppliers and internal stakeholders on upstream human rights and environmental due diligence expectations
- Experience collaborating with external NGOs, industry initiatives, and multi-stakeholder coalitions
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Copilot
- Proven ability to collect, interpret, and communicate complex sustainability, product, and environmental data including certifications and reporting frameworks
- Strong passion for corporate responsibility and continuous improvement across global supply chains
