Estée Lauder Companies seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician to join its six-person maintenance team at its Swiss hub in Lachen, where the company centralizes EMEA supply chain and travel retail operations. The successful candidate will ensure optimal performance of production equipment, execute preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, and contribute continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility. This role demands a pragmatic, hands-on approach combining independent problem-solving with seamless cross-functional collaboration.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair production equipment and systems to ensure uninterrupted operational continuity
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance activities and respond promptly to equipment failures
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults with troubleshooting precision and implement effective solutions
- Collaborate with internal teams and external service partners on maintenance projects and technical support
- Document maintenance activities, maintain equipment logs, and create technical documentation
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support team competency development
- Identify and propose process and equipment improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications as warranted
Qualifications
- Completed technical apprenticeship (Polymechaniker, Automatiker, Mechatroniker, Instandhaltungsfachmann, or equivalent)
- Minimum three years of hands-on experience in production equipment maintenance
- Proficient technical knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and pneumatics
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, methodically, and with initiative
- Strong team collaboration and communication skills
- Fluent German; conversational English proficiency
