Estée Lauder Companies seeks a highly skilled freelance sales associate to deliver personalized in-store beauty consultations across makeup application, skincare, fragrance, and hair. The role combines creative expertise and technical knowledge to create an inspirational, welcoming customer experience while supporting in-store events and maintaining visual merchandising excellence. Certification in makeup artistry and prior retail experience are desirable but not required; the company welcomes candidates with beginner-level expertise and offers comprehensive training and development opportunities.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide expert makeup application, skincare advice, fragrance consultations, and hair guidance tailored to individual customer needs
- Create personalized, inspirational in-store experiences that educate and delight customers
- Collaborate with the team to execute high-impact in-store events and promotions
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure the store stands out competitively
- Operate retail point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently
- Demonstrate authentic, consultative customer service in a fast-paced retail environment
Qualifications
- Ability to demonstrate high-level creative and technical expertise in beauty application or consultation
- Proven capacity to deliver inspirational, authentic, and personalized customer service
- Flexibility to work retail hours including days, evenings, weekends, and special events
- Proficiency with retail point-of-sale software
- Proof of right to live and work in Canada
- Certification in makeup artistry and/or prior retail makeup experience preferred but not required
Skills
Experience
Retail experience is preferred; however, candidates with amateur-level creative and technical expertise and demonstrated passion for beauty are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with prestige beauty or cosmetics retail is advantageous but not mandatory.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in makeup artistry or beauty consultation is desirable but not required.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, with easy access to Toronto.
