Estée Lauder Companies is hiring a Finance Platform Engineering Lead to direct engineering delivery, governance, modernization, and technical leadership across enterprise Finance platforms, including SAP ECC and related technologies. The role partners with Finance, architecture, security, operations, EBS, and strategic technology teams; it is full-time.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day engineering delivery for enterprise Finance platform initiatives, translating approved business requirements and solution designs into high-quality technical execution with predictable delivery and production readiness.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across SAP Finance engineering, including engineering realization, code reviews, development and validation of technical solutions, defect resolution, and production support readiness.
  • Coordinate delivery across Enterprise Business Services (EBS), strategic technology partners, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Lead engineering efforts for General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (AA), Controlling (CO), Treasury, Financial Close, and Finance integrations.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Finance Platform Engineering, to execute approved platform roadmaps, modernization initiatives, engineering improvements, and lifecycle plans, supporting long-term platform sustainability.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables align with approved solution designs, enterprise architecture standards, engineering principles, security requirements, and development methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain engineering quality standards, technical governance, release readiness, and delivery controls for enterprise Finance platforms.
  • Review engineering approaches, development standards, implementation plans, and technical solutions for alignment with approved designs and for scalable, maintainable, secure, and supportable implementation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through platform optimization, technical debt identification and remediation recommendations, engineering automation, environment management, and approved modernization initiatives.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, Operations & Infrastructure, and Finance Technology teams to align engineering solutions with enterprise standards and operational requirements.
  • Support lifecycle management, including environment utilization, platform upgrades, release planning, software maintenance, performance optimization, and production stability.
  • Identify technical risks, delivery challenges, and platform improvement opportunities, and develop mitigation and remediation plans.
  • Ensure engineering documentation, production support readiness, knowledge transfer, and operational handoffs enable transition to ongoing support.
  • Partner with Finance Product and Technology leaders to turn approved business requirements and solution designs into engineering solutions for enterprise Finance capabilities and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Finance stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, EBS, and strategic technology partners to deliver platform enhancements and transformation initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership during planning, estimation, engineering reviews, testing, deployment, and production readiness.
  • Support modernization initiatives, including SAP ECC optimization, S/4HANA transformation, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) adoption, OneStream integration, and applicable AI-enabled engineering capabilities.
  • Build relationships across business and technology organizations to improve collaboration, engineering transparency, and delivery effectiveness.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to Finance Platform Engineering Senior Analysts and Analysts, EBS resources, and strategic technology partners.
  • Promote engineering excellence through modern engineering practices, automation, reusable assets, AI-enabled development capabilities, and continuous learning.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, technical documentation, and engineering best practices to strengthen organizational capability and delivery consistency.
  • Help build a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing engineering culture focused on accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience leading engineering delivery, technical solution development, or enterprise application engineering within complex global organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise supporting enterprise SAP Finance environments, including Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (AA), Treasury, Financial Close, and Finance integrations.
  • Strong understanding of SAP ECC Finance and the broader SAP application ecosystem supporting enterprise Finance capabilities.
  • Proven experience leading engineering realization of approved business requirements and solution designs across enterprise Finance applications while coordinating EBS, strategic technology partners, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience supporting enterprise financial operations, statutory reporting, internal controls, financial compliance, and global Finance business processes.
  • Experience supporting global Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Manufacturing, Retail, or similarly complex multinational organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering delivery for enterprise Finance applications, ensuring technical quality, production readiness, predictable delivery, operational stability, and transition to ongoing support.
  • Ability to develop and validate technical solutions aligned with approved designs, guide implementation, perform solution validation, resolve complex technical challenges, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of SAP development methodologies, Agile delivery practices, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), DevSecOps, testing strategies, release management, deployment planning, and production support processes.
  • Experience driving platform optimization through technical modernization, environment management, engineering automation, technical debt identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to balance engineering quality, delivery commitments, platform stability, technology risk, and long-term maintainability across enterprise Finance platforms.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with Finance Product and Technology leaders, Enterprise Architecture, EBS, Finance stakeholders, Operations & Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and strategic technology partners.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to translate approved requirements and solution designs into scalable, secure, maintainable engineering solutions.
  • Experience supporting Finance transformation initiatives across business functions, engineering disciplines, and global delivery organizations.
  • Ability to coordinate engineering activities across internal teams, EBS, and strategic partners while maintaining accountability for delivery, technical quality, and production readiness.
  • Experience supporting modernization across SAP ECC Finance and familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Finance transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), cloud-based Finance capabilities, integration technologies, and modern enterprise application architectures.
  • Experience with OneStream, SAP Fiori, OpenText Vendor Invoice Management (VIM), SAP Concur, and SAP Ariba Finance integrations is highly desirable.
  • Experience with SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) and SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) is a significant advantage.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 105,100 to USD 172,600 per annum.
