The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the implementation and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs and systems at a premier global beauty and luxury goods manufacturer. This position ensures regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations whilst fostering a culture of safety and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance across manufacturing and distribution operations. The specialist conducts facility inspections, facilitates compliance training, supports incident investigations, and maintains comprehensive safety documentation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support site compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations through inspections, audits, and follow-up activities
- Assist with risk assessments and implementation of corrective actions to mitigate workplace hazards
- Maintain and organize safety data sheets, permits, training records, and related documentation
- Deliver EHS training sessions for new hires and facilitate recurring compliance training as required
- Participate in incident investigations, prepare reports, and document findings to prevent future occurrences
- Support sustainability initiatives including recycling programs, energy conservation efforts, and environmental data collection and reporting
- Collaborate with facility, distribution, and operations teams to identify and mitigate EHS risks
- Participate in internal and external audits and assist with closure of audit findings
- Prepare EHS performance metrics, dashboards, and compliance reports
- Promote employee engagement in safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with purchase order generation and support EHS accounts payable processes
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
- 2–4 years of demonstrated experience in an EHS-related role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings
- OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR certification, or equivalent credential (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with EHS software tools and documentation systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Skills
Experience
2–4 years in an EHS-related role, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments. Experience with OSHA and EPA compliance, incident investigation, safety training delivery, and regulatory reporting is advantageous.
Education
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
