Estée Lauder Companies is hiring an Employee Cost Finance Manager in Mumbai, India, to oversee employee cost budgeting, payroll accounting, tax compliance, reconciliations and financial controls in partnership with HR, Payroll, Finance and Tax teams. This is a full-time regular role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare employee cost budgets covering salaries, bonuses, benefits and employee provisions.
- Track monthly costs against budget and prior year, and explain variances.
- Manage monthly employee cost accounting, including provident fund, gratuity, leave encashment and other provisions, ensuring accurate accruals and timely reversals.
- Manage salary TDS compliance and reconciliations, Form 24Q, Form 16, Provident Fund, Professional Tax and other applicable employee-related statutory requirements.
- Coordinate responses to PF, Professional Tax, TDS and GST notices with government authorities and external consultants to ensure timely resolution.
- Reconcile payroll reports and salary registers with accounting entries and the General Ledger; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Strengthen payroll and employee cost controls, streamline processes and identify opportunities for automation.
Qualifications
- Experience in employee cost budgeting, payroll accounting and reconciliations.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian payroll tax and employee-related statutory compliance.
- Attention to detail and the ability to translate financial data into clear insights.
- Confidence coordinating across teams and working with external consultants and authorities.
- A practical approach to improving processes and managing monthly deadlines.
