Role & Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials shipped to and from interplant and outside facilities
- Verify accuracy of transactions and compare to actual production, including physical inspection of goods to validate condition
- Operate manual and power material handling equipment to retrieve, putaway, and replenish materials throughout the facility and load onto transportation vehicles
- Utilize warehouse management systems to document and process shipping and receiving orders
- Ensure correct pallets are used and built based on EXACTA and customer supplier criteria
- Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and stock control as required
- Troubleshoot and communicate problems to ensure timely turnover in shipping and sortation areas
- Complete pre-shift checklists on all powered material handling equipment, including battery water, charging, and cleaning
- Maintain a clean work environment, including sorting pallets, wrapping stacked cardboard on pallets, and communicating any quality changes
- Follow all safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP)
- Perform various other duties as assigned, including assisting with training of new employees
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some experience in general warehouse environment preferred
- Proficient computer skills and ability to navigate basic Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective communication skills and demonstrated knowledge of English, reading and writing
- Mechanical aptitude
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for several hours daily
- Capacity to lift maximum 50 lbs and frequently lift and carry up to 35 lbs
Skills
Experience
Some experience in a general warehouse environment is preferred, though entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and reliability may be considered. Forklift certification is mandatory within 90 days of employment.
