Role & Responsibilities

• Develop a fast, in-depth understanding of the market, including its mixed economy, rapid pace of change, and complex government and labor regulations.
• Represent Estée Lauder Companies in the marketplace with integrity, upholding its values, culture, and heritage while building the business in the new geography.
• Build brand equity and work with Brand Leads to reinforce brand philosophies, ensure excellence in visual merchandising and marketing execution, and promote adherence to guidelines through internal and consumer education.
• Work with the VP and Brand Regionals, where necessary and relevant, to formulate mid- and long-term market, distribution, and brand strategies that maximize sales and ensure brand growth outperforms the market by at least one percent.
• Launch new brands; identify new distribution channels, retail opportunities, and potential local distributors for managing FSF/FSS; and expand the geography.
• Manage P&L responsibility to achieve agreed net and retail sales targets, including COGs and NOP; tightly control OPEX and strictly monitor reimbursements to and expense approvals for 3PSP.
• Monitor potential market risks, including regulatory, economic, and industry changes; threats to intellectual property or brand equity; health and safety; and talent retention.
• Gather market intelligence on governmental and legal changes, political and security stability, and their business impact.
• Monitor and understand competitor activity and consumer behavior to align corporate and brand strategies.
• Proactively formulate market-share defense and growth strategies.
• Motivate, lead, and develop the team.
• Build strong relationships with third parties, including distribution and retail partners, landlords, media owners, and other industry players, to support smooth operations and strengthen Estée Lauder Companies’ presence and reputation in the country, including negotiating for the best spaces and locations.
• Develop social standing in the Philippines to work with NGOs, KPLs, and 3PSP.
• Ensure strategic alignment with the VP/GM in daily operational execution, governance and control, and roles and responsibilities.
• Ensure efficient allocation and prioritization of financial and human resources for maximum output.
• Monitor and provide input on brands’ operational effectiveness, including retail pricing versus competitors, brand category mix, and inventory management to maintain a stringent lineup and minimize obsolescence and destruction.
• Negotiate and monitor costs for operational effectiveness, including cooperative spending and support, rents, and other third-party suppliers.
• Monitor grey-market activities to protect brand integrity and minimize impact.
• Work with HR, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to maximize efficiencies and compliance.
• Update and conduct drills for Crisis Management and Business Continuity Plans to ensure their relevance and currency.
• Keep all staff aligned with and updated on corporate strategies and developments.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are properly recorded and executed for compliance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SAP processes with BRM, the SAP site lead, and the IP Executive to improve processes, realize value, and ensure cost effectiveness; provide ongoing skills training, including efficient use of reports and data.
