The Business Analyst supports commercial data processing, marketing research, analytics initiatives, and service management, developing and maintaining reports and dashboards while collaborating with business, IT, and Data Engineering teams. The role is full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Process commercial product-level data and conduct other marketing-related research.
- Assist with greenfield marketing projects.
- Conduct quality assurance testing to ensure the integrity of data outputs.
- Create and maintain documentation on data processing and segmentation rules.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT and business analysts to ensure accurate data processing.
- Recommend improvements to data quality and enabling application technologies.
- Support the development and maintenance of commercial dashboards.
- Translate new or revised business needs into daily operations, roles, and responsibilities.
- Provide backup support within the team and contribute to a motivating workplace and safe working environment for team and department colleagues.
- Support data-driven projects, including medium- to low-complexity analytics initiatives aligned with business needs.
- Analyze and interpret datasets to provide insights for decision-making and operational improvements.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for clarity, accuracy, and usability by business stakeholders.
- Assist with data validation, cleaning, and processing to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Work with business teams, including managers and directors, to understand reporting needs and provide data-driven insights.
- Follow data governance and security best practices and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Support automation by improving reporting processes and reducing manual data manipulation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and help track business performance using data visualization tools.
- Work with IT and Data Engineering teams to ensure appropriate data access and integration across platforms.
- Troubleshoot basic data inconsistencies and reporting issues, escalating complex problems when needed.
- Maintain documentation for data processes, reports, and dashboards to support accessibility and knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with data analysis tools and techniques, improving skills as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Strong interest in the beauty industry; prior industry knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent written and communication skills in Mandarin are a plus.
- Knowledge of analytics skills and tools is a plus, including SQL, Excel, Tableau, Python, Power BI, Databricks, or BigQuery.
- Self-starter who takes initiative, proactively solves problems, and supports team needs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability and willingness to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Good stakeholder management skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships with coworkers and agency disciplines.
- Critical thinking skills, using logic and reasoning to assess the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to opportunities.
- Ability to foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
- Prior experience in marketing analytics and data governance is a plus.
