The Associate Art Director develops digital ecommerce design and marketing creative, alongside platform-native content for social, paid media, and emerging channels. The role requires 5+ years of design experience, a strong portfolio, and fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma; it is a full-time regular position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design elevated, on-brand ecommerce experiences, including site refreshes, landing pages, product launches, promotional updates, and other digital touchpoints.
- Concept and design email marketing campaigns in partnership with Online, CRM, Social, and cross-functional teams to create a connected consumer experience.
- Apply strong typography, layout, imagery, and design craft to every execution.
- Design with a mobile-first mindset, considering user experience, messaging hierarchy, platform requirements, and consumer behavior.
- Create scalable design solutions that balance high-quality craft with the speed and efficiency required for a high-volume ecommerce business.
- Partner with project managers and developers to bring complex digital experiences from concept through final execution.
- Concept, storyboard, shoot, and edit Lo-Fi content for organic social, paid media, ecommerce, TikTok Shop, and emerging platforms.
- Create short-form video, Reels, product storytelling, UGC-style content, photography, and other platform-native assets.
- Work hands-on with an iPhone, basic lighting, and the internal photo studio to create polished, relevant content quickly.
- Translate briefs, trends, and business needs into simple, compelling content ideas that feel authentic to the brand and platform.
- Partner with Social, Marketing, Online, and other creative teams to develop cohesive cross-channel content.
- Stay closely connected to beauty, fashion, design, social culture, ecommerce, and emerging content trends.
- Understand how consumers discover and shop for beauty across platforms; knowledge of TikTok Shop and social commerce is strongly preferred.
- Explore AI and emerging creative tools to enhance ideation, content creation, design, and workflow efficiency.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently while remaining flexible, responsive, and collaborative.
- Present concepts and design work clearly, take direction thoughtfully, and contribute positively to creative critique and team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Portfolio demonstrating excellent graphic design, typography, layout, and visual storytelling, with exceptional creative taste.
- At least 5 years of design experience in beauty, fashion, luxury, agency, retail, or another design-driven industry.
- Hands-on design experience across digital, ecommerce, social, CRM, and campaign work.
- Ability to originate concepts and execute within established brand guidelines and design systems.
- Exceptional typography and attention to detail.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to articulate design thinking and confidently present work.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
- Experience creating mood boards, storyboards, shoot concepts, or photo/video creative decks is a plus; on-set art direction experience is welcome but not required.
- Motion, video editing, photography, Lo-Fi content creation, and AI-assisted creative experience are a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
