Estée Lauder Companies seeks Accounting Manager in Madrid, Spain for 12-month contract overseeing financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly closing processes and prepare accurate financial statements and budgets in compliance with local regulations and US GAAP requirements
  • Liaise with and implement the hybrid outsourced model for Finance & Accounting functions
  • Lead and manage the accounting team, providing mentoring and optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax, regulatory, and financial requirements, and accurate preparation of accounting reports
  • Develop and lead internal and external audit processes, collaborating closely with auditors to maintain transparency and accuracy
  • Implement and maintain internal accounting policies that ensure appropriate financial controls and minimize risks
  • Provide strategic financial analysis to senior management including profitability analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support decision-making
  • Collaborate across Finance, Operations, and Project Management departments to deliver clear and actionable financial insights
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with external financial and accounting service providers
  • Support the company's expansion strategy through participation in financial planning and execution

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting leadership positions, preferably in Retail or FMCG sectors
  • Demonstrated experience managing accounting teams and optimizing financial processes
  • Proficiency with SAP, Hyperion, and Tableau (mandatory)
  • Strong financial analysis and planning capabilities
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Experience

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline. Master's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
