EM Microelectronic seeks an experienced Linux and Windows Systems Administrator for Colorado Springs, CO to manage enterprise IT infrastructure.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain all Linux servers and workstations at Colorado Springs and Austin offices, including remote users and sites in accordance with Group IT policies
  • Maintain Dell PowerEdge Servers and Dell hardware management tools (iDRAC), including physical and virtual systems
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Linux system installations, upgrades, and maintenance including security patching
  • Create, manage, and support user accounts using Microsoft Active Directory for Windows environments
  • Provide comprehensive help desk support to end users for account setup, hardware and software troubleshooting, network and VPN connectivity, and application installation
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement resolutions to ensure optimal infrastructure availability
  • Specify, procure, and deploy end-user hardware including laptops, simulation servers, peripherals, and supplies
  • Install, configure, and deploy hardware, software, printers, operating systems, applications, and security patches across the enterprise
  • Maintain software licensing records, subscriptions, IT inventory tracking, and comprehensive system documentation
  • Administer enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions including Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Maintain and support Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, design kits, and support libraries in collaboration with EM HQ CAD and Linux support teams
  • Coordinate with Swatch Group IT (SGIT) to ensure proper server integration and support disaster recovery and business continuity testing initiatives
  • Manage IT budgeting, master planning, and project tracking for infrastructure initiatives
  • Evaluate, test, and implement emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Proven experience administering Linux systems in enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows user management
  • Experience with Dell PowerEdge Servers and iDRAC hardware management
  • Proficiency with Veeam Backup & Replication or equivalent enterprise backup solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network connectivity issues
  • Experience managing EDA tools and design kit environments
  • Understanding of enterprise IT security policies and best practices
  • Experience with help desk support and end-user technical assistance

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; or equivalent professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator.
