EM Microelectronic seeks IT Systems Administrator for Colorado Springs office to manage Linux/Windows infrastructure, servers, and user accounts.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and administer Linux servers and workstations on premises, including physical and virtual hardware, software, and operating systems
- Maintain Dell PowerEdge Servers and Dell hardware management tools (iDRAC)
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Linux systems installations, upgrades, and maintenance activities including patching
- Create and support user account setup and management using Microsoft Active Directory
- Provide comprehensive helpdesk support for end-users including account setup, hardware/software debugging, network/VPN connectivity troubleshooting, and application installation assistance
- Monitor and resolve system performance issues and bottlenecks
- Specify, procure, and deploy laptops, simulation servers, peripherals, and IT supplies
- Install, configure, and deploy end-user hardware, software, printers, operating systems, applications, and security patches
- Maintain software licensing records, subscriptions, IT inventory, and technical documentation
- Administer Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, design kits, and support libraries in collaboration with EM headquarters CAD and Linux support teams
- Manage enterprise backup solutions including Veeam Backup & Replication
- Coordinate with Swatch Group IT to ensure proper server integration and support disaster recovery and business continuity testing
- Participate in IT budgeting, master planning, and project tracking
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies across the infrastructure
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and Active Directory management
- Experience with Dell PowerEdge Servers and iDRAC hardware management tools
- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication or equivalent enterprise backup solutions
- Demonstrated ability to support multi-site IT infrastructure with remote users
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities across hardware and software platforms
Skills
Experience
Proven experience as a Linux systems administrator or infrastructure professional managing enterprise-scale environments with multiple office locations and remote user support. Background in enterprise backup and disaster recovery planning is preferred.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in information technology, computer science, or related field preferred. Relevant industry certifications (CompTIA Security+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator, or similar) are advantageous.
