EM Microelectronic, a Swatch Group subsidiary and innovator in ultra-low-power semiconductor technology, seeks an IC Front-End Manufacturing Manager to ensure operational performance and continuity of front-end integrated circuit production. The successful candidate will lead five production teams in a 24/7 environment, manage daily operations and KPI achievement, oversee team development and shift coverage, and drive systematic problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead daily and weekly operational meetings to coordinate priorities and activities with maintenance and process partners, ensuring achievement of manufacturing performance objectives and KPIs
- Monitor, analyze, and update production key performance indicators (KPIs) monthly; define and track associated action plans
- Communicate operational tactics and priorities to team leaders, including task prioritization and shift assignments
- Supervise and coordinate with team leaders to ensure minimum operator coverage and that all personnel possess the required competencies to operate all equipment
- Oversee onboarding, training, cross-training, and qualification of new operators in collaboration with team leaders
- Ensure all production staff comply with work instructions, safety procedures, and clean-room protocols while fostering a constructive social environment
- Support and cultivate a culture of workplace safety, team collaboration, solution-oriented thinking, and commitment to production performance
- Contribute with team leaders to operator recruitment, assistant team leader recruitment, performance evaluations, annual reviews, disciplinary measures, and conflict resolution
- Mentor, develop, and coach team leaders in management processes, meeting facilitation, and leadership competencies
- Challenge operational issues and identify system improvement opportunities; propose and validate innovative solutions with stakeholders and deploy agreed-upon solutions
- Ensure compliance and accuracy of production documentation (creation and revision)
- Support production and safety audits: preparation and implementation of corrective action plans
- Lead problem-solving analyses using methodologies such as 8D
- Manage and coordinate production shutdowns (Fab Stop) events
- Lead short- and medium-term improvement projects (technical, operational, work methods, safety, layout, etc.) aligned with Production Manager objectives using appropriate project management methodologies
- Welcome, analyze, propose, and validate improvement suggestions from production teams; lead and coordinate agreed-upon actions
Qualifications
- Engineering diploma in microelectronics or equivalent
- Formal training or certification in leadership and management
- Minimum 5 years of leadership/management experience in a similar role within a production environment
- Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor or high-technology production environments
- Knowledge of IC production and manufacturing processes
- Proven experience managing production teams with a focus on performance and personnel development
- Demonstrated ability to organize complex activities effectively, with experience implementing KPIs, processes, work methodologies, and coordinating operations
- Project management experience

Experience
Minimum 5 years of leadership and management experience in a production environment, with at least 3 years specifically in semiconductor or high-technology manufacturing. Prior maintenance experience is advantageous.
Education
Engineering diploma in microelectronics or equivalent field; formal training or certification in leadership and management required.
