The Lana, Dorchester Collection Dubai is seeking a Waiter to support restaurant operations, deliver polished guest service and maintain outlet standards. The role includes menu recommendations and upselling, service preparation and close, revenue and cost awareness, and coordination with hotel departments; it is permanent and full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Share responsibility for the assigned outlet’s day-to-day operations and guest experience.
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and recommend and upsell items using menu knowledge to support guest satisfaction.
- Set up and prepare the outlet for service and oversee its careful closing after service.
- Support captains and team members by keeping polished equipment available, running food and beverages promptly, and maintaining table settings to a high standard.
- Keep the outlet immaculate and adhere to all service standards.
- Support revenue targets while controlling beverage costs and other expenses within set budgets.
- Attend daily pre-service briefings and stay informed about hotel updates and upcoming service.
- Liaise with other departments to uphold the outlet’s presentation, cleanliness and maintenance standards, including for furniture, equipment, floors, fixtures and fittings.
- Bring the hotel’s values of Passion, Personality, Respect, Working Together and Creativity to the role.
Qualifications
- A positive, can-do attitude and passion for the role and team.
- Ability to delight guests while working with a passionate team and striving for excellence.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service ethic.
- Detail-oriented, hands-on team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to support and inspire high-potential team members.
- Comfortable communicating in English; Arabic, Italian, French, Spanish or German is highly desirable.
- Relevant professional certification or hotel-school diploma.
- Experience working in luxury hotels and restaurants in the Middle East.
