Dorchester Collection is recruiting a full-time Sommelier Intern for a placement of up to six months starting in September 2026 at Hotel Plaza Athénée in Paris. The intern will serve and advise guests in either the Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant or Relais Plaza, and support daily and main cellar operations; a placement agreement is required.
Role & Responsibilities
- Advise discerning guests and serve wines at the table in accordance with the profession’s precise standards.
- Oversee the daily wine cellar, ensuring the selection and quality of bottles ready to be served.
- Assist the Head Sommelier with receiving and storing wines in the main cellar.
- Retrieve from the daily cellar the orders placed by the Head Sommelier.
Qualifications
- Hotel-related training and/or a complementary qualification in sommellerie.
- Fluent in English and French; French is the candidate’s mother tongue.
- Motivated, with a strong team spirit and impeccable presentation.
