About Dorchester Collection
Dorchester Collection operates hotels including The Dorchester in London, Hôtel Plaza Athénée and Le Meurice in Paris, and The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles County. Its properties hire across rooms, restaurants, kitchens, engineering and guest services.
The Security Officer protects The Dorchester’s property and people, oversees hotel fire, life, health, safety and security, conducts patrols and audits, and operates surveillance systems. The permanent, full-time role requires an SIA licence, First Aid qualification and relevant security experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Protect the company’s property from loss or damage and provide a safe, secure environment for guests and colleagues.
- Oversee the hotel’s fire, life, health, safety and security (FLHSS), follow company rules and standards, and review protective and preventative security measures.
- Record relevant incidents in the Occurrence Book, conduct regular building patrols, document hazards and communicate findings for action in line with risk assessment strategies.
- Operate CCTV and other work-related security and surveillance systems professionally when assigned, and relay relevant information to stakeholders or the Area Director of Security.
- Comply with safe working practices under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the company Health and Safety Manual, as applicable to the workplace.
- Conduct random departmental audits to check compliance with key-control policy, Lost and Found processes and the security Code of Practice.
Qualifications
- Previous relevant experience in Safety and Security Services; a police or emergency-services background is beneficial.
- An established security background, ideally from the Police, Military or an ultra-luxury hotel or establishment; exceptional candidates from other industries will also be considered.
- SIA licence.
- First Aid training and qualification.
- Knowledge of fire, health and safety.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service ethic.
- Ability to communicate comfortably in English.

Previous relevant Safety and Security Services experience; an established background is preferred, ideally from the Police, Military or an ultra-luxury hotel or establishment.
