Role & Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and troubleshoot audiovisual, protection, lighting and conferencing equipment, devices and systems.
• Oversee audiovisual equipment setup in banquet and meeting rooms and ensure that all equipment is fully operational.
• Repair and maintain electronic systems and equipment, including TV, in-house movie and music, intercom, two-way radio, audiovisual and projection systems.
• Diagnose faults in electrical systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools, identify breakdown causes and correct problems.
• Follow the audiovisual equipment preventive maintenance checklist to support an excellent guest experience.
• Keep engineering areas clean and orderly, coordinate closely with other engineering staff, and immediately report serious maintenance issues, unusual findings and safety hazards to the manager.
• Comply with departmental and corporate SOPs and LSOPs, and implement Dorchester Collection engineering policies, standards and procedures fairly and consistently.
• Follow departmental job safety analyses, work to prevent accidents and help maintain a safe environment for self and others.

Qualifications

• Technical trade course certificate in electronics, electrical work, mechanics, IT or a related field.
• Vocational certificate, diploma or equivalent.
• Technical training in electrical, electronic or IT fields.
• At least 2 years of facility management experience, including a minimum of 1 year with an international five-star luxury hotel brand.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a guest room technician or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of routine maintenance methods, materials and tools for audiovisual systems and equipment, and of relevant equipment, policies and procedures.
• Ability to read building electrical drawings.
• Understanding of maintenance inventory and the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems or electronic wiring and fittings.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-service ethic.
• Comfortable communicating in English.

Skills

Experience

Education
