Dolce & Gabbana seeks an accomplished tailor to join the Sloane Street boutique in London. The successful candidate will specialize in womenswear alterations, fittings, and repairs, combining traditional hand-stitching with contemporary sewing techniques to uphold the brand's exacting standards of craftsmanship. This position requires weekend availability and flexibility across boutique locations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute professional tailoring processes with specialization in womenswear alterations and repairs
- Measure clients accurately using precision techniques and record measurements with meticulous attention to detail
- Evaluate garments on clients to determine and communicate alteration requirements
- Perform alterations and repairs using both hand-stitching and sewing machine techniques while preserving original garment construction and style
- Create and adjust patterns to fit individual measurements and client preferences
- Communicate fitting details and alteration specifications clearly with sales staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional tailor within a luxury retail environment
- Expert knowledge of menswear and womenswear tailoring, alterations, and fitting
- Advanced understanding of garment construction, fabric characteristics, and specialized tailoring techniques
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to refined craftsmanship
- Ability to deliver a sophisticated client experience and maintain the highest service standards
Skills
Experience
Proven professional experience as a tailor, ideally within a luxury fashion retail environment. Demonstrated expertise in advanced tailoring techniques, garment construction, and client-facing fitting services.
Education
Formal tailoring qualification or equivalent apprenticeship/training in bespoke or luxury tailoring preferred.
