Role & Responsibilities
- Support the construction and refinement of prototype garments during production phases, addressing technical aspects including material selection, production techniques, sewing methodology, and model optimization within cost parameters
- Monitor prototype production for quality issues, construction problems, and industrialization challenges to prevent complications in subsequent production phases, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards
- Identify optimal construction solutions by conducting industrialization trials and defect resolution across fit, fabrication, textile properties, adhesives, embellishments, and embroidery to balance product quality with perceived consumer value
- Systematically research and evaluate complementary materials for garment construction, including interfacing, thermoadhesives, yarns, and accessories, testing suitability and proper pairing
- Archive and maintain accessible records of prototype samples and test materials for colleague consultation
- Supplement technical product specifications with additional production-relevant details, including construction specifications and technical drawings as needed
- Monitor and track progress of prototype production assigned to external laboratories, ensuring compliance with agreed delivery schedules and escalating when necessary
- Assist and support external Quality Control technicians in adherence to construction directives and quality standards established during prototype development phases
Qualifications
- Secondary technical diploma with specialization in Fashion Design or similar qualification
- Demonstrated prior experience in industrialization or technical roles within the textile and apparel sector
- Flexibility and availability to adapt to production schedules
- Results-oriented mindset with commitment to process optimization
- Excellent organizational capabilities with collaborative and team-oriented approach
