Diptyque seeks a Stock Supervisor in New York to oversee inventory, stockroom and receiving operations, shipping, omnichannel services, and store support, while serving as a key holder and assisting the sales floor as needed. The role is full-time.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Inspire and motivate the team by leading by example.
  • Process all shipping and receiving functions that affect store inventory accurately and efficiently.
  • Keep the stockroom and receiving area orderly and neat, and maintain the store generally.
  • Process inbound freight, vendor returns, transfers, and damaged merchandise accurately in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support compliance with receiving policies and standards, including requirements for safeguarding company funds and property, personnel practices, security, and record-keeping.
  • Communicate with the corporate operations team.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge and represent Diptyque in the store, articulating the season’s new and key ranges.
  • Proactively use the training tools provided by Store Operations.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Maintain full knowledge of cash-desk procedures and processes.
  • Remain aware of store security, health, and safety issues and requirements.
  • As a key holder, respond to emergency calls and handle them appropriately.
  • In the absence of the Store Management team, manage emergency situations involving the store and team members.
  • Maintain attention to boutique cleanliness and detail.
  • Work with management to address store maintenance promptly.
  • Control inventory, including delivery processing, adjustments, replenishment, and transfers.
  • Process outbound deliveries accurately and efficiently, including client orders, store-to-store transfers, and vendor returns.
  • Complete quarterly OPS checklists and share action plans and results with the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Execute cycle counts.
  • Prepare for and execute the twice-yearly inventory count, and take responsibility for its shrink result.
  • Accurately and promptly execute omnichannel services, including e-reservation, click and collect, messenger, and engraving services.
  • Assist with floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Assist with price changes in the boutique.
  • Resolve problems and make informed decisions affecting service and productivity in the receiving area.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in store meetings and training seminars as needed.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by a manager.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in the luxury retail industry; management experience preferred.
  • Previous retail stock, shipping, or receiving experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to lead projects and tasks.
  • Assertive, dynamic, and positive, with a can-do attitude.
  • Maintain a professional appearance that reflects the company and store.
  • Ability to handle receiving operations and manage stock levels effectively, including proper merchandise handling.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to process information and merchandise through a computer system.
  • Ability to adjust priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to operate equipment required for the role, including phone systems, inventory-control computer systems, and other office equipment.
  • Availability to work varied hours and days, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move and handle merchandise and fixture boxes throughout the store, perform heavy lifting, and carry out the role’s responsibilities.
