Diptyque Stock Controller position in London. Temporary full-time role managing deliveries and inventory across retail and wholesale operations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain delivery and stockroom standards to the highest level, ensuring all deliveries are processed with accuracy and productivity targets are consistently met
- Receive and inspect all incoming deliveries in a timely and efficient manner, flagging shortages, overages, and damaged items to the appropriate department
- Complete key tasks including stock takes, price changes, recalls, and cycle count procedures in collaboration with boutique managers to maintain stock accuracy within retail systems
- Unpack and properly store all deliveries in designated locations, ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines and maintaining an accurate knowledge of stock placement
- Rotate stock on a regular basis to ensure merchandise remains clean and saleable, with particular attention to expiration dates and product integrity
- Liaise with headquarters inventory team and store managers regarding scheduling, out-of-stock management, and staffing coverage
- Prepare and coordinate stock returns to suppliers, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed and actioned
- Maintain clear aisles and through-routes, with particular attention to fire escape routes and security procedures for restricted stockroom access
- Prepare stockrooms for the following day's business activity, ensuring external storage areas remain organised and presentable
- Provide cover and assistance to other stock team members during breaks, annual leave, or other absences, ensuring comprehensive handover procedures
- Support stocktake operations in both preparation and execution phases
- Suggest and implement improvements to storage systems and stockroom layout and organisation
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of retail or service industry experience
- Proven experience working in a fast-moving stockroom or warehouse environment
- Certified or aware in manual handling procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and demonstrated agility in learning new systems
- Strong attention to detail with a comprehensive understanding of luxury retail standards
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
