Diptyque Sales Supervisor position in New York, USA. Lead retail operations, drive sales KPIs, and deliver luxury client experiences.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver agreed KPIs for the store with focus on sales, average transaction value, items per transaction, conversion rates, and CRM metrics
- Inspire and motivate the sales team by leading by example and embodying Diptyque brand values through grooming, storytelling, and client-centric behaviors
- Guarantee excellent client welcoming and supervise sales transactions to ensure client satisfaction and brand qualitative standards are maintained
- Actively contribute to Client Experience training for team members and drive achievement of Client Experience evaluation targets
- Serve as the point of reference for clients and colleagues during management absences, managing all operational and emergency situations
- Address VIP client needs directly and effectively, leveraging relationship management to build loyalty
- Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends to inform strategic recommendations to Store Management
- Drive client database development and lead by example to achieve CRM KPIs
- Demonstrate comprehensive product knowledge, articulating both new and key seasonal ranges to fully represent the brand
- Execute opening and closing store procedures and checklists with consistency
- Ensure strict adherence to cash handling guidelines, bank transaction procedures, and petty cash protocols
- Maintain full knowledge of cash desk procedures and oversee POS system operations
- Uphold all security, health, and safety requirements; respond to emergency calls as a key holder
- Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines and assist with product launches, sampling campaigns, in-store displays, and window schemes per Marketing Plan
- Maintain meticulous attention to boutique cleanliness and presentation; coordinate store maintenance in a timely manner
- Support all loss prevention initiatives, physical security measures, store cash controls, and inventory management
- Ensure adequate stock levels through coordination with Store Management, conducting regular scheduled stock takes
- Manage delivery processing, replenishment, gift wrapping, and maintain an organized stockroom
- Complete general administrative duties and attend management team meetings as required
Qualifications
- Passion for fragrance, beauty, and luxury retail with proven experience in one or more of these sectors
- Assertive, dynamic personality with a consistently positive attitude and strong can-do mentality
- Proven track record of sales achievement and sales-focused orientation
- Strong understanding of retail KPIs and their impact on business performance
- Expert-level client service skills with confidence interacting with diverse clientele
- Self-motivated, focused, and proactive approach to role responsibilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Impeccable grooming and professional appearance that reflects luxury brand standards
Skills
Experience
Previous supervisory or senior sales experience in luxury retail, fragrance, beauty, or a related high-end commercial environment is strongly preferred. Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; further retail management, business, or luxury brand training is a plus.
