The Sales Supervisor contributes to sales and supports store operations, client experience, team leadership and inventory control, assuming responsibility for the store when management is absent. The role is full-time at Diptyque’s Bleecker location in New York.
Role & Responsibilities
- Contribute actively to sales and support the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager with the store’s operational and sales performance.
- Assume accountability for all areas of the store in the absence of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager, serving as the point of reference for clients and colleagues.
- Deliver agreed store KPIs focused on sales, AVT, IPT, conversion and CRM.
- Lead by example to inspire and motivate the team.
- Communicate commercial understanding of store performance and make fact-based recommendations with the Store Manager to improve the client experience and business results.
- Represent Diptyque’s values through grooming, language, storytelling and behaviour, delivering a client experience aligned with the brand signature.
- Welcome clients and supervise sales to ensure client satisfaction and maintain required qualitative standards.
- Contribute actively to Client Experience training for team members and help achieve Client Experience evaluation targets.
- Manage VIP client interactions directly and effectively.
- Stay informed about key competitors and industry trends.
- Drive the development of the client database and achieve CRM KPI targets by leading by example.
- Demonstrate strong product knowledge, represent the brand in store and articulate new and key seasonal ranges.
- Use the training tools provided proactively.
- Manage opening and closing checklists.
- Ensure compliance with cash-handling guidelines, including bank transactions and petty cash, and maintain full knowledge of cash desk procedures and processes.
- Remain aware of store security, health and safety issues and requirements; as a key holder, respond to emergency calls and, in the absence of Store Management, manage store and team-member emergency situations.
- Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines.
- Assist with product launches as required by the Marketing Plan and HQ instructions, including sampling campaigns, in-store displays, layouts and window schemes, supporting successful sell-out.
- Maintain boutique cleanliness and attention to detail; work with Management to arrange timely store maintenance.
- Complete general administrative duties, attend meetings and calls in the Store Management team’s absence, and master POS systems.
- Support loss-prevention actions across risk management, physical security, store cash controls and inventory management.
- Work with Store Management to monitor stock levels and ensure adequate inventory, conducting scheduled stocktakes as required.
- Control inventory, including delivery processing, replenishment and gift wrapping, and maintain an organized stockroom.
