Diptyque Assistant Store Manager in New York. Lead retail operations, drive sales, and develop talent at the iconic Bleecker Street location.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver performance metrics to plan in store and analyze store metrics to drive sales with internal and external clients
- Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly business analysis and reporting
- Cultivate a customer-centric store culture and serve as an advocate for in-store customer experience improvements
- Model outstanding customer care and participate in execution of client strategies
- Achieve CRM KPI targets and assist Store Manager with development of Retail Action Plan
- Provide constructive feedback to Management on store performance
- Execute merchandising strategies and provide suggestions based on sell-through analysis
- Partner with Store Manager to drive associate engagement by building diverse teams, supporting learning and development, and providing consistent feedback
- Partner with Store Manager to engage and develop client relationships through multiple channels
- Lead team operations when Store Manager is absent, including coaching and motivation
- Embody Diptyque values through grooming, language, storytelling, and behaviors; ensure staff alignment
- Ensure Diptyque's positioning as a true luxury brand by providing highest-level client care and satisfaction
- Manage store operations including opening and closing checklists, policy implementation, cash handling, and employee training
- Optimize store schedule and organize activities to manage expected workload with available resources
- Prepare and animate daily briefings; share store performance and sales targets with team
- Communicate information relative to Diptyque, market, products, and events
- Attend meetings and calls in Store Manager's absence
- Manage stock levels, product allocation, and assist in inventory optimization across deliveries, saleables, non-saleables, transfers, and warehouse returns
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of sales management experience in luxury retail industry; beauty experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
- Ability to analyze selling reports, identify business trends, and react quickly; understanding of retail KPIs
- Proven ability to drive positive customer experiences that build loyalty and deliver measurable results
- Ability to manage competing priorities; self-motivated, focused and proactive
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong industry awareness and business acumen
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organizational abilities
- Passion for beauty and fragrance industry
- Flexibility to work retail schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of sales management experience in the luxury retail sector, with preference given to candidates with background in beauty retail. Demonstrated success in driving sales performance, developing team leaders, and fostering customer loyalty in a high-touch retail environment.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 29 to USD 30 per hour.
