Diesel in Milan seeks a Junior Graphic & Prints Designer to create prints and graphics for apparel across collections.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Graphic Design team in the design and development of graphics and prints across Diesel apparel and accessories collections, including regular collections, capsules and special projects.
- Conduct trend research to source concepts, colorways, textures, print and embroidery techniques from vintage references to cutting-edge materials.
- Create and render artworks by hand and digitally, defining placements, color combinations and trims for multiple product categories.
- Manage fitting and launch activities with ateliers and factories to ensure correct animation and technical execution in alignment with the apparel design team.
- Collaborate with menswear, womenswear and denim designers, pattern makers and R&D to ensure accurate artwork placement and technical feasibility.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for development and production; ensure accuracy and version control throughout the development process.
- Provide general assistance during development meetings and collection presentations, delivering timely revisions and supporting final approvals.
Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Print Design or equivalent formal education required.
- Very strong hand-drawing skills and digital illustration ability.
- Proven understanding of print and embroidery techniques and their technical requirements for production.
- Excellent eye for graphic composition, color and visual communication.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, in particular Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current graphic design trends and best practices, including familiarity with AI-generated artwork workflows.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Creative, proactive, collaborative and relationship-oriented with an accurate and flexible approach to work.
- Entry-level knowledge of pattern making and experience liaising with pattern makers and tailors.
Skills
Experience
Entry-level graphic/print design experience in apparel or sportswear: typically 0–2 years supporting print development, artwork production and liaising with production or R&D teams. Internship or junior studio experience on fashion collections is desirable.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Textile/Print Design or equivalent.
